Comments: had trouble breathing at first, water took breath away, since this was my first triathlon, starting with so many people was difficult What would you do differently?: practice in the ocean more ![]() Transition 1
Comments: definitely need to work on this, getting on shoes was difficult, using same pants for swim, run and bike is key. It was hard to because the area was cramped and sandy What would you do differently?: Practice. Plus, since my goal was just to finish, I didn't hustle as much as I might have ![]() Bike
Comments: This was the easiest for me. Breathing was the easiest, able to maintain a good pace and felt good on hills ![]() Transition 2
Comments: terrible transition, getting bike shoes off and run shoes on was difficult, sandy ![]() Run
Comments: this was the most difficult part, It ws hot and still, difficult to navigate the sand and dodge kids and runners coming back What would you do differently?: practice ![]() Post race
Warm down: just rode to where I was staying What limited your ability to perform faster: breathing issues and not having trained exactly the way I would have wanted. I had two weeks where I couldn't train Event comments: The best thing about this race is Block Island. It is a very funky, local race with a lot of character. Do not come if you are interested in records or get upset if everything doesn't run hyper-smoothly. Last updated: 2009-08-05 12:00 AM
