Subject: New Castelli Bibs ... Are These Fitting Right?
First and foremost, I'm 6' 1" and 153 pounds.  Very tall and skinny.

I normally buy bibs in size M, but have some Castelli clothing (jerseys and jackets) in size L that fit right.  Because of the recommendation to always get Castelli gear in a size up, I order two of the Castelli Velocissimo bibs in size L.  I got them today, and I'm wondering if they're fitting right.

The bibs in the legs, especially the "elastic" on the bottom seems a bit loose.  Not surprising since I've got legs slightly larger than chicken legs.  When standing upright, the chamois doesn't quite touch my bum the way my other shorts or bibs do.  But when I'd be on a saddle, the contact should be fine.

The small of my back has a little bit of a bubble (which would be covered by a jersey) and one of the front straps also has a small bubble in it (which, again, would be covered by a jersey).  Otherwise, they seem to be okay... maybe just a smidge loose.

I'm worried about switching to size M because I don't want them to be super tight.  At the same point, I'm worried that these size L aren't going to fit right and I'll end up hating them.

The store accepts returns, but only of gear in original condition.  Not really sure if I should take them for a spin or not.

If you have Castelli bibs, how do they fit you?  Do you think I should switch to M?

PS - If you need images, I can try to post 'em... just not big on the idea of putting my skinny bod out there for the world to see.  Ha!
