Any advice for a new triathlete? I'm racing my first mini-triathlon in two weeks, and my legs after biking wobble and stiffen up.

I've slowly begun bricking during workouts, any advice??

Nervous, Lu

for my fist tri, i walked for several minutes to get warmed up before running.

your legs will rally soon enough there-after!  don't worry.

oh yeah...strething will help immensely and ease your initial discomfort.

Every time you get off your bike, put on your running shoes and do a short brick of 5 or 10 mins at the least. It helps you get your legs use to turning over and also helps you get past the mental aspect of it. At least that is what my coach says.

Hey Lu,
Just keep in mind that just about EVERY athlete out there struggles a bit coming out of the second transition...

Biggestr mistake most athletes make is OVERSTRIDING out of T-2. When your legs are fatigued, and used to going in circles, its a common reaction to resist this nad make your strides too LONG.

Better off to focus on taking short, frequent steps as you start out of T-2. As you get into it and start getting the legs used to the new motion, then you can slowly begin to find your normal running "cadence".
