Subject: riding near college park?
Hi,

previously a runner now getting into biking, and i'm looking for some more info on trails/routes people use near the college park(UMD) area....anybody have any routes?

Yup--Beltsville Agricultural Research Center.

Best bet is to ride north on Rhode Island Ave, pass under the beltway, and turn right at the next light, Sunnyside Ave. This takes you to Edmonston Rd, where you take a left. From there, you have some awesome riding options around what's basically federal farmland--some rolling hills, nice flats, and a good TT loop around NASA Goddard.

I can't seem to find a map of the BARC online, but I can give you some specific routes to try if you want.

I used to live at Wynfield Park apartments on Route 1, and I miss being able to go for rides in the BARC right out my door. It was awesome.

Actually, I found one route to get you started--I have a couple more rides available once that gets boring.
