Subject: NEED a bike!
I'm new to the Tri and have been scouring the Classifieds (Craigslist included) for a road bike and have been unsuccessful.  I'm 6'3" and have not been able to find a usable bike for my height.  Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.  My first tri is approaching (Patriots Sprint) and am tired of the "bikes" at the gym!  Thanks in advance,

Geoff

you should be able to walk into a bike shop and get a new entry level roadie for that!!!!  go to conte's at new town, those guys are great.  (i'm assuming you are in WB training for patriot's?)

Thanks!  I've been in there a couple of time (down at the Newport News Location), but have been putting it off to see if I could find a better, used bike.  But I think it is time to just bite the bullet and get the bike!

I'm in Yorktown.  Would love to do OWS in the coming weeks to prepare.  If any clubs/groups are doing any, feel free to let me know.  Thanks,

Geoff

If you are decide to go new, I recommend BikeBeat. They are the better shop for my money. A real rider's shop, not a salesman's shop.

even more of a rider's shop, but not as advertised, is Bikes Unlimited in Williamsburg.  Owner is the main guy in the shop.  His wife works with him.  He has both used and new bikes...and not the Trek bikes that everybody has.  He is (Barry) no BS and will not attempt to put you into a bike that has more than you need.  His website is www.bikewilliamsburg.com.

i'm gonna pretend i didn't hear that as i'm good friends with one of the owners of the new town conte's and it is certainly a rider's shop.

I say both BikeBeat and Conte's are salesman's shops.
