I just installed a new rear tire last week on my Cervelo P2C and had to adjust the rear dropouts to have enough clearance so the tire didn't drag on the frame. Now I am experiencing a lot of chain noise when I am in my big ring up front and bigger cogs in the rear. It looks like the chain is just not engaging well with the front ring and is slipping off a bit. I tried some derailleur adjustments but that didn't seem to help. I have a HIM Sunday and would kind of like to have my bike in perfect operating condition for that race. Anyone have a similar problem? Any suggestions?
All other things being the same, it would seem to have to relate to the change you made in your rear drop-outs. It is possible that your drop-out adjustments are not symmetrical/equal on each side which would cause your rear wheel (and cassette) to be out of alignment with your chain-rings. Go back and check your chain-line and rear wheel alignment in the frame.
