I am doing the Redman Full Aqua Bike next month and I have never done a race where I only do two of the three legs.  How does the finish work?  I am planning to do a short run after the bike. I assume I just turn in my chip and take off my number and go for my run (trying to avoid the bike and run course?).

Thanks!

I read a couple threads on here and it seemed that you dismounted, came through the "finish" with your bike, got your medal and that was it.  (Don't quote me - I'm just trying to remember what I read.)  People's opinions seemed to be that it was not quite as big a deal at the finish line as opposed to at the finish of a run.  Which I guess makes sense since you'll have your bike and all your gear.

Let me know if you find anything out.  I'm interested in one of these for 2011.

I will report back after my race.

I too have heard that the finish is somewhat subdued, which is ok for me since I am really doing this for pacing and nutrition practice for IMFL.  I was just trying to figure out what to expect (when can I take my stuff out of transition, making it a brick, etc.).

At Steelhead we couldn't clear our stuff out of transition until after a certain time.  I'm guessing your stuff would be fine in transition until the end of the day.   (Which will be longer for those doing all three events.)  Just a guess though...

Please let me know after the event - I'm really interested!

I did the Redman Half Aquabike a couple of years ago.  The finish was very anti-climactic sp?.  I just dismounted and walked across the timing mat and that was it.  I hung around for awhile after I was finished, but I think you could take your stuff out of TA anytime.

Good Luck and Have Fun!
