Subject: Garmin 305 died...

My Garmin was working fine two days ago but when I put it on to run yesterday it would not turn on. I ended up using a regular watch thinking that I had just left it on, but I can't get it to take a charge. I've had it for probably a year and a half, is that the normal time it takes for it to die? I thought that battery in the chest strap was the first to go out on these things? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Same thing happened to mine. Push and hold down the two buttons on the face and the one on the bottom left at the same time for about 10 seconds. Now try and turn it on as you normally would. This worked for me, and now I have to do it every time I use the 305.

I'll give that a shot as soon as I get home. I wonder why that would happen and/or work? It's probably like resetting an iPod which I've had to do on occasion.

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the tip Law, it works. I was nervous there for a minute.

Mine does this if I leave it plugged into the computer for a long period of time and especially if my wife's screen saver starts running.  Not sure why, but I think it may quit charging and start draining.
