Subject: RE: Going SocklessOK, going scokless. On the bike, this is easy and I dont think that you need to worry about the type of shoe that you wear. I have not worn socks on the bike in 6 years or more (unless it is cold out ). This is for training and racing. On the run.... This is different, probably for everyone. There are a few shoes that do not have seams (Zoot, Pearl Izumi ) that are idea for running without socks. Also Newtons are very nice for running without socks. As for other brands, I usually have some blister / rubbing raw issues. I race in Zoot / Newtons so this is not an issue for me and now that I have found Newtons not an issue for training. So depending on your shoes (race and training ) you may want to experiement. What works best for you. At T1 / T2 socks suck. Trying to get socks on wet feet takes way to long. Sometime you just have to HTFU and deal with a little pain. Also if you are doing an IM, I will wear socks. Just too long of a day to go without...... |
