Run
Comments: Started out good, kept a solid pace. Run/walk ratio was 4:1 according to the Jeff Galloway method. Felt a bit like a dork taking a walk break only 4 minutes in, but I stuck with my plan. Kind of weird playing a constant game of back and forth with the other competitors. I would run by them, then they would run by me when I was walking. Eventually, it all worked itself out. Loved the plan though, and I felt good and solid by mile 13. Even managed to run pretty much the whole last mile without taking a walk. Knees were in agony for the next day or two, but recovered nicely after that. The course itself was really beautiful, with several nice rolling hills. One decent sized hill around mile 10 or so. Loved this race, and definately will do this one again next year What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Walked a fair bit, grabbed a bite to eat at the tent and waited for the results What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training time and my weight. Event comments: Loved this race, well organized and very scenic. My first half, and I'm glad it was this one. Will definately come back next year Last updated: 2009-09-28 12:00 AM
