Comments: Pool swim serpentine. Did crossovers well but never had anyone to draft. I passed 3 and got passed by 1. I wasn't thrilled with time but felt great throughout. Slower by 18 seconds in last years race. What would you do differently?: Not do TT the day before (thats not true would always do TT). Probably push myself harder ![]() Transition 1
Comments: I jogged to slow out of the pool. My wife who started behind me passed me going into transition. Faster by 15 seconds versus last year. What would you do differently?: leave pedals on bike and slip into shoes ![]() Bike
Comments: I don't love this course, its got some big bumps and a little more cornering than most. It was my first race on the new bike and I was very pleased with time. I improved 3 minutes 59 seconds versus last year on the same course. No one passed me on the bike. First time ever taking feet out of shoes on the bike :) What would you do differently?: nothing really ![]() Transition 2
Comments: first time feet on the pedals shaved 35 seconds off last year. 2nd fastest transition in age group. Forgot number belt, luckily not busted What would you do differently?: get race belt, its now attached to hat ![]() Run
Comments: Pretty happy, 26 seconds better than last year. Day before probably hurt a little. Raced in new orthodics for the first time, but used old shoes because of weather. What would you do differently?: run faster :) ![]() Post race
Warm down: waited for wife to finish 2 minutes after me (she won age group) then I ran around with camera taking pictures of my sis in law who was doing her first race. Prepped niece for kids raced then ran around with camera again. What limited your ability to perform faster: TT the day before, swim effort level, road conditions on bike. Event comments: Premeir does a wonderful job and given weather this was no exception. The awards were delayed because of power outage but no real complaints. Plenty of beer and kids race was awesome too. Our families and friends gals swept the 8 year old age group. Last updated: 2005-05-11 12:00 AM

Well this is a bit odd. I did a 40K 2 man time trial the day before the race. Love TT and don't get many opportunities. After TT did a cold dip at the gym, then went Bike shopping for my niece who also did the kids race. Had chicken and macaroni as prerace dinner and a zone bar for breakfast.
Not much, the start was delayed because of thunderstorms.
