I'm counting them with you....this is my B race for the year, with IM Arizona in November.  Have you done the Boulder long course before?  If so, maybe you could provide me with a little insight on the bike course and its difficulty....good luck with the training.

This will be my 1st 70.3, in my 4th year of doing tri's; definitely my "A" race this summer.  I have a whopping 4 sprints and 2 Oly's under my belt.  In other words, I too am a seeker of any and all insight... Laughing

Nutrition and proper hydration are the two biggest keys.....I learned that the hard way from my first 70.3 last year.  Cramps and bonking with about 5 miles left in the bike made for a miserable journey and a slower than slow time for the course I did.  Fuel early and often during the bike and if you have cramping issues, make sure that you bring a salt stick or something that will get you the electrolytes you need.

This will be my first HIM. I have raced portions of the series before, but I have not done the HIM. I am really looking forward to the experience and learning of the first HIM.

Is everybody getting ready???  I have been resting my shoulder and not swimming a whole lot, but I did get in a good run and a decent bike this morning.  The next 10 days is all about piling up some mileage on the run and getting a few swim sessions in.  Not too concerned about the bike fitness, but want to make sure that my body knows what  it's like to run 13.1 again....

Last few long rides I've been experimenting with nutrition and fluid options.  Bonk Breaker bars, Clif Shot Roks, and diluted Gatorade seem to be working pretty well for me with no stomach upset.  Might carry Gu chews on the run and take a bottle with me just to avoid consuming something new or unexpected during the run.

Hi Guys, I haven't done a tri since 2004 but I want to train to do a 1/2 IM then next year do a full. My question is what wetsuit should I buy a full or a long john type? If I am swimming in 60 to 70 something water for 2.4 miles. Would it be too cold to wear only the long john type? I have wore a full suit in the past and felt it was restrictive on my arms when swimming. Any advice? Thanks Dave

Bib Numers and waves have been posted. I'll be sporting a red cap, bib #910 with the Wave 5 Guys.  Starting 20 minutes after the Pro's, and finishing ~2-3 hours behind them Tongue out

I've seen everything from full suits to sport/race bikinis.  Probably more important is to get acclimated and practice in what you're swimming in, both water and suit.  That way you won't have a shock or discomfort come race day.  I only have a full suit, so thats what I usen.  I'd like to get a shortie so I have some options, but thats a budget thing....

Thanks! I want a suit that doesn't restrict arm movement. Last one I had felt weird ... too tight on the shoulders arms i guess

Some shops and online places will let you pool-swim in a wetsuit and do exchanges if theres a problem, but be sure to ask first
