Subject: RE: Rodney T. Miller Triathlon Alright it is my hometown so I guess I can chime in. They are trying to make it a pretty nice tri. It is getting there and in my opinion in a couple years will be pretty top notch. 3/4th mile swim, 19m bike, 4.5m run. Swim starts in a small beach front area. Yes the water is gross but was ridiculously warm this year. They have many many swim helpers in kayaks and lifeguards around to make you feel safe. The bike is an out and back, first four miles through the city rolling and turns, before hitting 105 and it is completely straight. Stay aero as long as possible. The run is basically out 2 miles of the bike course and back. They had a nice tent this year with flat screen TVs showing the race while it happened to the fans. The food was poor but that will be able to be worked on If you are an elite: $1k, $500, $250 payouts. If you are an age grouper, it is a good tri to do if you can get through the swim. |
