Expert 1117 Shalimar, FL | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Good morning everyone! I haven't been on my bike yet, because it's at home and I'm in Atlanta for the weekend, but I'll make up for it this week. Heading back home today. I ran the Peachtree Road Race yesterday. It's billed as the largest 10K, and it really is huge -- 55,000 runners. I was fortunate to be in an early group and my condo is along the race course, so I ran by the condo (and got my picture taken by friends), ran to the end, then walked back to the condo and got to watch the next hour+ of people running/walking. It's amazing to see the sea of folks taking up all of Peachtree Road for hours!! A very fun way to spend the 4th. |

Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Didn't get a stage in yesterday. I slept through my ride time. My hubby almost woke me but thought I must have needed the sleep since I was O.U.T. Heading out in a few minutes to ride this morning. Have a great day all. |

Elite 3913 far northern CA | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Maybe we should introduce our selves. Since this is a TdF challenge, introduce your bike as well. My name is Tracy. I have two Felts that will be playing this month, too. My tri bike is a B2 named Raven. (She's black and sleek and stealthy!) My road bike is a Felt ZW3 named Goldilocks. (She's gold and "just right".) I think I will be on Raven most of this month since I have a sprint tri in a couple of weeks. I've been doing triathlons for about 5 years. I love them! This year I have done 1 sprint tri. I plan on doing 2 more sprint tris and a HIM this season. GO GARMIN!!!! |

Tiffin, Ohio | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Goldilocks kills the bird-theme you had going on...Why not goldfinch? Well...now that I "say" it that doesn't really sound as cool as Raven! I'm April. I put my training mileage in on a carbon fiber Trek road bike and some commuting miles in on a Diamondback hybrid. Since I have been riding the Trek I have realized how heavy the Diamondback is but I rode my first century on the Diamondback (over 5,000 feet of climbing). I do all of my riding alone except for a century event every fall to keep me on track. This year's goal is to finish the century in under 6 hours. This is my first season with any serious run mileage. I ran a half marathon a few months ago and surprisingly find myself wanting to run every now and then. But my true passion is long distance road cycling...and the TdF bike challenge! |

Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Hi team, I'm Kathy and have been hanging on BT since 10/08. I did my first Oly last summer after not doing any tri's for 5 years. I am racing a sprint this month and the same Oly as last year at the end of August. My town bike is a 12 year old Bianci Strada. I returned to work this fall after taking a few years off while my kids were teenagers. My reward was a Felt B16 tri bike. I bought last years model so I got a nice price. I love it. It is soooo much faster then the old Bianci I rode in last year's race. She's named Juanita. I also bought a used MAzda Rx8 sport's car named Rico. I'm going for the full midlife Tri-sis in 2010! |

Expert 1117 Shalimar, FL | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Hi everyone, I'm Cheri, and I did my first tri 3 years ago. I actually haven't done too many -- a handful of sprints and my one (and only!) half ironman. I'm mostly a runner, although yesterday was my first race since last October. I hurt my knee in November, had microfracture knee surgery in February, and was just cleared to start running again last month. So... training has been pretty difficult this year. But I LOVE riding my Felt. I have an FW3 that fits me so well, and I try to take her out as often as possible. She is orange -- I know, who wants an orange bike -- but I went to Va Tech where our colors were maroon and orange, so I guess the color suits us. And of course she is called "Hokie Spirit"! |

Master 1567 Kauai, Hawaii | Subject: RE: Garmin-Transitions Challenge Tread Hi all! I Nancy, I have been on BT since 2006, I love to race so I can stay healthy and in shape! I have done a lot of these challenges but this is the first for me this year! I have been too busy raising twin boys one with a disability and need to get the training time in. I love this challenge and since I have a two day bike trek coming in august I need to make sure I get on my bike. I have had a sacrum injury giving me some hip issues that a I am currently in PT for. So I didn't put a high mileage to make sure I could complete my goal. Nice to meet you all! Oh, I ride a specialized multisport, it is an OK bike...Dream of my new one someday... |
