Swim
Comments: Timing was pretty basic and the split times listed here are my estimates. What would you do differently?: Practiced swimming more to build stamina in the lap pool. I did swim the river a week before which helped my river swim. Transition 1
Comments: Had a good spot in t-area. I lost a few seconds puting my tank top on as I was wet. What would you do differently?: Get a tri suit so dont have to put shirt on or dont wear shirt at all....get a race belt for my racing number. Bike
Comments: I was almost alway at 21-22 mph the entire ride. Turning the corners was a little tricky sometimes as their were slow riders and kids doing the race. What would you do differently?: Drank a little more Transition 2
Comments: Fairly quick transition. Lock Laces on the shoes helped a lot. What would you do differently?: Not getting frustrated seeing people ahead of you dump their bikes in without returning to the transition area before proceeding to run portion. I contacted the race director about this and offered some suggestions to prevent that in the future. Run
Comments: About 50 yards into the run my calves cramped up and stayed that way for about a half mile. This really slowed me down and discouraged me. I usually can run this distance in about 14 minutes or so. What would you do differently?: Figure out why my calves cramped up and how to prevent it next time Post race
Warm down: Walk and stretch. What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramped Calves during run Event comments: Overall a fun race. Hope that next year they find a way to have at least one more water station and get the transition are figured out where participants can't dump their bike without taking them back to the transition area. Woke up a little before 5, ate breakfast, and made it to the event a little after 6am. Got registered, checked -in, and then got my transition area all setup. After pre race meeting I had about 45 minutes before my start. Jogged and stretched.
