Subject: RE: Road aero set-up, almost complete -- offers and maybe part-outJMMauldwin - 2010-08-25 12:17 PM Let me check with my daughter and see what she'd like to do. What type of Bull bar is it? Also, can you tell me about the shifters and brakes as well as the collar? Thanks!! The base bar is an "oversize" Profile Air Wing bullhorn. Uncut, never even ridden (just installed on this set-up which was a project I never completed ). 42cm width, which is about the most common size. The "oversize" part is the 31.8mm stem clamp area diameter. Shifters are Shimano 8-speed bar-ends. They didn't (and still don't as far as I know ) differentiate the Dura-Ace vs Ultegra vs 105 groups for bar-end shifters. The rear shifter has a ring that can be turned that puts them into "friction" mode (which means they don't "click" into gear -- you can move it to where ever you need it ), so it they can be used for 7-, 8-, 9-, or even 10-speed systems. The brake levers are kind of a vanilla aero brake lever, made by Tektro, who also made the Cane Creek levers. Aluminum, external cable (so you don't have to fish the cable through the handlebars ). Not sure what you meant by "collar" though... |
