  • 14m 12s
  • 2.5 miles
  • 05m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Went out WAY to hard. Went out with leaders. 5:00 for the first mile. Wish they didn't have a clock there because it got into my head. I'm not a from the front runner. I'd rather hold back and negative split my miles. 2nd mile was 6:11. Yeah. last .5 mile was 3:00
What would you do differently?:

Go out slower.
Post race
Warm down:

Did and 2 mile cool down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

A 5:00 first mile

Event comments:

Old HS coach was running on the race. Came to me after the race and was joking with me about how I haven't changed because I still want to run from the front. I couldn't even do in in HS. Oh well. I feel that 2.5 mile races are to short to hold back and I have to run with the lead pack. Or I don't have a chance. Thats why I like the longer distances.
I know know why I like tri's. The runs are not as hard. Well they are but in a different way. You tri to survive the run. In run races you actually rafce. The feelings my legs have are totally different and I don't like the feeling I get when I go out way to hard and can barely hold on in the end.

Congrats on your first place win! I can't imagine running a 5 minute mile, heck, I can't imagine running a 6 minute mile either. Well done.

Inquiring minds want to know if you acted haughty at the awards ceremony and then mentioned Team Endless Summer.
