Comments: This race was a riot! It poured pretty much the entire time. Dave said at ~mile 9, "I hope it doesn't rain" - which I found hysterical at the time. Felt really strong. Ran most of the way with Dave W. - he's really good at pacing. We chugged right up the upsills and it felt like we were flying on the downhill. I felt really strong at the end and left Dave ~mile 11.5. What would you do differently?: I probably should have picked it up sooner (maybe mile 11 or so). Probably could've gotten a PR if I had done that. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed a bite to eat, talked to a few people, walked back to car before I was completley frozen! What limited your ability to perform faster: Heavy rain (standing water on track) but it was fun! Event comments: This was a nice race. They were a few minutes late getting started, but I think that's just because the event has grown so much from the first race last year. I felt great and was very happy with my time. Hopefully this predicts good things for the marathon in 6 weeks! Note: their timing system malfunctioned due to all the rain so my time is what was what I got on my Garmin. Had a bagel with PB, a banana, and Crystal Lite (caffeinated) for breakfast before leaving house. Note: It started pouring sometime in the middle of the night (and continued)!
Registered. Went back to car to try to stay dry until the start. Found Dave parked right next to me.
