I got on the elevator at work this afternoon, and a bike messanger got in at the same time. He had many tatoos but two in particular stood out. The backs of his calves - knee to ankle - were tatooed to look like pistons. I guess the idea was "these are the pistons that make my bike go" - now that is a serious commitment to cycling.

I have to wonder how that guy is going to feel when he is 60 with those tats though.

Well since almost everyone these days gets multi tone fineline tats the chances are they will be nothing but a blurred mess anyway. Fineline sucks, but you can't find may tattoo artists doing it old school with large bore needles.

I have two. One I love and one I would carve off if I could The good one came after the one I now dislike. (It is an artwork thing)

A good artist (like the one I go to in New Hampshire) can cover up an old tattoo with a new one and you'd never know it was there. You might want to consider that if it's really something you dislike.

I have 4 of them including my Ironman tattoo, and I enjoy them all. They certainly aren't for everyone. Then again, I'm pushing 60, so I guess I won't have to worry too much about what they look like when I'm 60!

My initial message may have left the wrong impression - I have nothing against tatoos. I have considered getting one myself, and if I ever finish an IM I undoubtedly will.

These tats were massive though, and didn't strike me as the type of body art that you would want forever. They look cool when you are 20, but maybe not so much when you are 60.

No I don't really want it covered, I want it gone.

I love Tats, just not this one. When I do my IM (and yes I will. I may be in at 11:59pm but I am gonna do it. Two years) I am thinking about putting it on my forehead! OK that's not true, lower back but still...

I have two myself and I love em. I did get them placed on my delts though so I can still wear a short sleeve shirt without them being visible.

I have 7 of them, and would remove completely 3 of them if I could. I also have 3 piercings, not including ears. In the small backwoods town I live in, I'm somewhat of an oddity.

and now you know why I hate one of my tats. I was 320lbs when I got it and had the boobs of a 320lbs woman. The other is on the top of my spine so it is not likely to move south.

I've seen pics of Max's tattoos, and they are hot!  Then again, Max is hot, and wears them well.

It was impressive before I got preggers twice in two years. I went from 160 to 227 the day I had JJ. I am 190 now. I really want to get back to 160. I can live with that. Nothing too drastic just a size 12/14.

LOL! My gecko's tail got longer and longer (and wider and wider) and now he's a normally sized gecko again, now that I've lost the weight. The GF even comments on it occasionally, that the gecko has shrunk.

The placement of my third tattoo will have to be somewhere that isn't going to expand and shrink quite so much.

You're right, of course, but I get stuck in the moment and in the fact that non of the clothes I love fit anymore. I need to stop beating myself up about this. I just cannot get the heck over it!

OK Back to the tat talk!
