Subject: RE: Bike?? I'm no expert on the subject, but have just bought a new bike myself. I watched some triathlons on TV and even some world class folks (Brownlee, Gomez etc) are using 'regular' road bikes rather than 'triathlon' bikes, so I decided to go with a regular road bike. I got a GT - last years model and colours for about 35% off. Well worth looking for last years bikes. Fit is very important - one make of 56cm frame may be a different size to another make of 56cm frame - so you do need to sit on some bikes. ALso, buying off the web, you may need to do some assembly of the bike when it arrives. There's a range of budgets covered in the links below, but some examples of what's available at some pretty good discounts: GT http://activesport.co.uk/shop/article_GT%2BGTR%2BSeries%2B4.002/GT-GTR-Series-4-2010-Road-Bike.html?pse=coa Dawes that others mantioned http://www.ashcycles.com/site/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4096&language=en http://www.ashcycles.com/site/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=88_111_247_474&products_id=4097 Other makes such as Giant and Specialized have good reputations too: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/giant-defy-4-2010/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=products http://www.ashcycles.com/site/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4553&language=en http://activesport.co.uk/shop/article_1844.002/Giant-Defy-4-2010-Road-Bike.html?pse=coa http://www.scotbycycles.co.uk/bikes-c19/road-mens-c32/specialized-allez-triple-bike-2010-p817?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=ppc&utm_term=2752&utm_campaign=froogle#2752 Good hunting Edited by SuperSonic 2011-06-22 3:48 AM
