Pre-race routine:

Got up early and ate a powerbar and drank some gatorade.

Event warmup:

Got there about 1/2 hour early and signed in. Did about a half mile jog and did some light stretching.

Comments:

Started off with a good pace and held it thru about 2 and 1/2 miles. Then I just started to run out of gas for some reason. Did not have a very good strong finish like I wanted to have. I wanted to get under 21 minutes but I did finsih first in my age group.

What would you do differently?:

Need to work on speed work and hold it for 3+ miles.

Warm down:

Did some light streching and a little jog and cheered Marnie in at the finish. She got first in her age group also.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need more practice anf running fast.

Event comments:

It is a small town race near where I live but it well organized and the money goes to a different charity every year. I usually have a good time every year and will do it again next year.
