Swim
Comments: I felt pretty confident in my swim because I trained more for it then the bike or swim knowing that swimming would be my biggest challenge. What I didn't account for was that I would have almost no strength left in my legs after the bike and swim so I had to use my arms more then I thought. I also completely ran out of gas in the middle of the third lap and struggled just to get my air so I had to take about a minute long break before finishing the last part of the swim. What would you do differently?: No idea, probably breath better Transition 1
Comments: Since this was a reverse, T1 was run to bike and all I could think was do not fall coming out over and over again. I was really set on doing my thing and not worrying about everyone else around me, thankfully I was slower then the people setup around me so I had plenty of room to get my shoes on and breath for a second. What would you do differently?: Go faster Bike
Comments: The bike ride was a lot of fun except for the wind, everyone I talked to on the ride including myself was wondering how we were getting a head wind on three different spots on the course. I wasn't 100 percent comfortable on my aero bars so I wasn't on them that much for the first 2 laps but was on them for the majority of the third lap and I felt good for that entire lap. What would you do differently?: Stay on the aero bars longer Transition 2
Comments: T2 was bike to swim. I was really focused on dismounting safely and not crashing into anyone else. After getting into transition safely I just went through everything I needed to do and did it rather slowly since I was exhausted. What would you do differently?: Go faster Run
Comments: I have ran several 5k's before so I knew this would not be a problem, I just wanted to go slow enough that left me with enough energy to finish the rest of the race so I tried pacing myself better. My time was a lot slower then I thought but my plan worked and I pushed a lot harder on the bike. What would you do differently?: Run faster Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Nerves Event comments: Being my first tri, I was excited and nervous so I just wanted to have fun after reading all of the comments from the other BT'rs and that is what I did. I can't wait for my next race Last updated: 2011-02-06 12:00 AM

Since it was my first triathlon, I really didn't have a routine. All I did was walk around the transition area looking at the in's/out's of the area, went over my stuff 5 or 6 times, helped my wife and kid find a place to hang out on the course, and try to relax as much as possible.
