Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5AM. Had 2 slices of rye toast and some cottage cheese.
Checked tires, loaded car.
Event warmup:

Went into the ocean waist deep. Water felt cool, but race director assured us it was 81*F. Ha! Did some static stretches.

Swam too far to the right ended up out too far in the back stretch. Long run up the slippery ramp to the parking lot.
What would you do differently?:

Sight the bouys better, not try to stay out of the way as I went too far out I think.

Multi task, work on mounting bike faster.

I felt I did well. Rank does not support this however. I felt I biked hard, but didn't go all out.

Try to get pace up to avg. 20 mph.

Racked bike wrong, had to turn the bike around which took time. Didn't approach my area on the correct side, all my stuff was on the other side so it took time getting around. :(
What would you do differently?:

Approach my area and rack bike from the correct side so I am on the side with all my stuff.

I felt good, thought I did well. Was passed by a few racers which was discouraging. Got water from my friend at the water station, yeah!
What would you do differently?:

Tie shoes better! This is the second race where they have come untied!!!!

Warm down:

Water, that's it. It was an overcast day, so I wasn't dehydrated, hot nor weak. So I didn't feel I needed anything.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Biking! I must work on the speed.

Event comments:

Well organized, plenty of volunteers. Beautiful course. Perfect conditions. I just wish sprint distance tri's would be considered "worthy" of finisher's medals. I am told they usually give them out at OLY distances and above. :(
