Subject: My son the hockey player

My 8yo son is in the middle of hockey tryouts this week.  Well last night about half way through the practice, he comes skating off the ice.  I ask him what's up (figuring he probably had to go to the bathroom), well he spits out his mouth piece, then spits into my hand a tooth that had been loose.  He's got some blood coming from where the tooth came out, so I ask him if he wants to go to the locker room until it stops bleeding.  He gives me this look and says, come on dad, I'm a hockey player, and he heads right back out onto the ice.  I was one proud dad after that.

Thanks for that memory. When he left, I stopped paying for NHL games, and got on the Goper waiting list. Now I split gophers and UMD bulldog tix. Only go to the wild when it's free, nothing against the wWild, I've just had it with the NHL.

WCHA!!!!

Good Luck,
Jay

Ownsa, ownsa

one of the greatest movies ever. My wife gave me Caddyshack, Slapshot, and Office Space on DVD for fathers day.

I can't WAIT until the NHL starts. HOpefully, the Devils and the Wild will not be allowed to continue to destroy this wonderful sport.

Dirty joke time...

Ouch!

Can't say that's too true though because with the absence of "Hockey Night in Canada" on Saturdays, Canada experienced a little baby boom nine months after the supposed season start.

Cool of your son...but maybe you shouldn't be spending too much money on orthodontists if he keeps up the habit into his teens! My defining moment as a hockey player was when I got a stick to the side of my chin that started to bleed on my white jersey. I was upset when my mom managed to get the stain out.

I don't know why I'm sharing this, but when I saw the title of this thread out of the corner of my eye, I swear to God it read "My son the hooker".

Whoops.

From one hockey player to another- give your son a high five for me!
I love hockey. Can't say I like the NHL, but love playing, watching and soon to be reffing. Taking my first referee seminar next Sunday. Can't wait to have people yelling at me and calling me names.
Don't know who posted this before, but I had to save the picture.
