![]() Swim
Comments: My best swim of the year. Stayed with my crawl stroke the entire way. Solid breathing and drafting. The only pisser is they failed to record my time. My age group was all racked together and I was first to the rack, so I know I beat the number one guy. I'm guessing I was at 5:50, which would have ranked me #7 overall. What would you do differently?: Nothing ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Again, without the swim time my total time for swim and T1 is lumped together, so I don't know my T1 time. I was not bad. ![]() Bike
Comments: Pretty good bike effort I had nasty left calf cramping during the last couple of miles but was able to continue through. What would you do differently?: Nothing. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Again, this is my weak spot. I keep losing major time in T2. A little trouble getting the shoes on and had trouble getting them tight. What would you do differently?: Don't know ![]() Run
Comments: Not a bad effort. I don't think I could have done much better given my training. What would you do differently?: More interval training leading into event. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Just walked around and ate and drank What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor training. Had three weeks of travel leading into event. Almost no swim training, limited biking and limited running. I'll do better for the next event. Event comments: too slow on the age group awards Last updated: 2011-07-04 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:45, went to Starbucks for coffee and oatmeal. I was at the check in area at 5:40 and was still 3rd to get to the bike rack! Checked in bike, and then just chilled in car for 30 minutes and drank coffee. Set up my transition area and then went jogging for 4-5 minutes to warm up.
Really fun event. The bike was a little dicey going out and on the final mile of the return due to very narrow riding lanes. I was in the 3rd wave and finished 18th, so I had to passs a lot of people.
