Subject: Timex Ironman watch band for heart rate monitor
hey.. I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a great Timex Ironman Heart rate monitor but the watch band is cracking. Since it's the screw-on type (not the type with a pin)  I can't just buy a generic band to replace it. Timex doesn't seem to sell them.. anyone know where I can get a replacement?

They may not sell it but did you call Customer Service? It may not be listed on a website but I know we will ship out watch bands from most of our units that are the pin style, yet we do not list them.  If you have not, I would call them up and know the exact model, there are a few IM HRM's

I've had a couple of different versions of Timex Ironman with integrated watch bands.  Three times on two different watches I've sent them to their service center and for $10 they replaced the band.  Though one time I think the just sent me a whole new watch.  Yes, they should make the band replaceable.  Yes, they should make the band of more durable material.  Yes, you have to pay shipping and you have to wait a couple of weeks, but for $10 + shipping I think it's a fair deal.  Call them to check on the current price.  If you've had it more than a year, you should go ahead and get them to replace the battery too.

I was able to find one for my Ironman watch on Amazon for about $13 with free super saver shipping.

^^^ I was very impressed with TG Service (with their customer service, not that my band broke in the first place).

Thanks for the information.  I sent the watch in several weeks ago asking them to fix the band PLUS add a new little retaining strap (that had broken off also) AND replace the battery.

Since my watch was out of warranty (over 2 yrs old) I was a little concerned that they might charge me more than I thought it was worth.

I received a BRAND NEW watch and the charge was $10 (the watch was ~$80 when I bought it).
