Run
Comments: I was sweating like crazy even before the race started. This race is pretty easy actually. Mostly flat loop with only slight uphill at one point. The first mile I felt really good. We were running into the wind. I checked my watch at the 1 mile mark and I was around 7:30 pace. My plan for today was to run within myself and just monitor my shin and see how long I could hold out a brisk pace. My shin was hurting pretty good, but nothing horrible, so I pressed on at about the same pace for a while. As soon as we took a sharp right turn, the wind was now at our backs and I was roasting like an egg in the sun. A nice surface of black asphalt was putting off a good amount of heat and the liquid from a garbage truck was evaporating through the crowd of runners, smelling very strongly off fish. Great fun. I pretty much had to slow down and finished just under 26 mins. What would you do differently?: Not much. I didn't intend to race this. Post race
Warm down: walked around in circles. What limited your ability to perform faster: HEAT Event comments: Best 5k I've run. There were about a thousand things to eat after! For some reason the results came out and "gun time" was how they placed you. So I have no idea where I actually came in over all. Last updated: 2011-09-05 12:00 AM
