Subject: RE: Look 596 I-Pack - $I've gotten a few messages with questions about the bike and figured I should explain some of the features in more detail.
The bike has 3 sets of elastometers for the seat post. Each set of elastometers will give the bike a different "feel"; either soft, medium or stiff. To install the elastometers, all that needs to be done is remove the seat post, unscrew a bolt and slide the elastometers off and slide the new ones on.
To change the crank length, all that needs to be done is remove the pedal and then reposition so the tic mark on the pedal so that it aligns with the corresponding number (170, 172.5 or 175 ) on the crank arm.
This bike can either run 110 bcd chainring or a 130bcd chainring.
The high or low refers to where the stem is position. There are 2 mounting holes on the fork that the stem can be mounted in. Right now it is in the high position. The angle of the stem can also be easily adjusted by loosening the bolt and then moving the stem up or down. There are graduated clicks every 7.5 degrees. This works for both the high and low setting.
I dont know what length the stem is. Depending where I measure from it is either a 100mm or a 110mm. Look makes 5 different stems for this bike so if a rider needed a different size, they are available from any Look dealer.
Yes, you can run a Quarq powermeter on the bike. In order for it to be done, you would have to buy an adapter for the bottom bracket. However, the Zed cranks are probably the best set of cranks on the market and a user would be better off running a powertap rather than replacing the cranks.
The extensions for the aero bars have NOT been cut. Edited by jase714 2011-09-21 6:49 AM
