Comments: The water was beautiful! The swim is my best event and I know I should try to be close to the front at the start. I get too polite and let others in front just to make it difficult for me to pass them later. What would you do differently?: Push for my space near the front. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Too slow in the transition. 2 1/2 minutes! I had to wash the sand off my feet and put on socks and shoes. What would you do differently?: Get the "elastic" laces. ![]() Bike
Comments: Hilly. The roads were not closed and at one point we were passing cars on the LEFT! It was tough going over the bridge with cars. I passed people UP the hills but they seemed to pass me going DOWN the hills. Had a very soft rear tire that didn't help at all. In my innocent newbie way... I didn't know you pedaled down the hills. I know know and will practice What would you do differently?: MORE BIKE TRAINING! ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Easy transition as I bike in my running shoes. All I needed to do was trade the helmet for my hat. ![]() Run
Comments: Better than I thought. I was going for 18 min. Loved the trail part of the run. What would you do differently?: Nothing ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked around the site. Ate a hot dog, cookie and some sample post workout drink. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Event comments: Great event series especially for the beginner. Last updated: 2005-09-19 12:00 AM

Up at 5:30. Had 1/2 bagel with PB, a banana and some water. Got a Timmy's coffee en route. Arrived at race site at 7:15. Set up in transition area which was almost full for my AG! Met my fried from work and wandered the site.
Short jog and dip 1/2 before start time.
