Comments: I reached my goal on the first mile so I was just able to relax and run after that. It started raining really hard (including thunder) at about the 1 mile mark. I'm glad I didn't have high expectations. I feel like I have a good benchmark and starting point to improve on in the next six months though. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walk through the food line and then walk to the warm car and warm, dry cloths! What limited your ability to perform faster: It was a rough winter for training. Running hills on the tredmill just isn't the same as a real hill. I'm satisfied with my performance though. I had a banana and half a bagel for breakfast. I wasn't really nervous about the event. I was just viewing it as a starting point and had few expectations. I just wanted to pace myself between 10 and 10:15 for the first mile.
I stretched at home before we left. Stretched after picking up my race packet. And then jogged for about 5 min. The last part of the jog I did faster and concentrated on my leg turn around.
