Subject: Is this do-able?
I've been a runner for the past 7 years. Currently I'm running 25 miles a week, spinning classes 2x week, and lifting 2x week. My school is having a small low-key tri in mid November (500m swim, 15 mile bike, 5k run). I thought it would be fun to attempt. If I add some swimming in (it's been a few years since I've done any) 2x week for the next month, is it reasonable to think I could do this thing?

Also, do I need to bike outside in place of the spinning? It is very flat here, so hills are not an issue. Another thing, should I cut back on my running minutes to add the swimming in?

Thanks for any help.

You will definitely need to get in the pool. I would suggest getting in the pool as much as possible. I would also get out and ride my bike and don't rely on your spin class to prepare you for the bike. You will want to get comfortable with your bike and how it handles. I would suggest just running after you bike (brick workout) and this will help you prepare. Maybe some of the other coaches on the board can give you some input on training, but you can alway adapt the beginner sprint progam that Ron has on the site.

Bottom line is it do-able? I really think so.
