Comments: I didn't train for this race, so in my mind this was a long training day and I was looking for a good workout- mission accomplished. I started in the front corral with the jackrabbits and found a good pace group by mile 3. They were running a little slower than I desired, but I needed someone to pace me or else I'd blow-up by mile 6. I picked up the pace the last 5 miles and was pleased with the finish time. My left knee hurts quite a bit, but it only set-in around mile 11 so wasn't too much of a drain on speed. My splits: 8:34 8:09 8:32 8:01 8:26 7:59 8:00 8:07 8:07 7:58 8:01 8:00 8:25 What would you do differently?: Nothing, this was a good race. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Lots of food and water, I slept for about 1 1/4 hrs while waiting for Luis to finish the full. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training time and high-end speed, but those will come closer to Nationals. Event comments: I'd do this race again, but I'll still never do a full-marathon unless it comes at the end of an Ironman. Last updated: 2005-12-24 12:00 AM
