Subject: This frustrates me!

The Muslim community is outraged at the portrayal of the prophet Mohammad as a terrorist, yet they are propagating the stereotype by burring buildings and killing people? In no way do I think it is appropriate to make fun of people’s ideological religious beliefs, but I also believe in freedom of speech. So the question is how do deal with a group of people who believe there is a portion of the worlds population that doesn’t even deserve to live (Jews)?

I really see this as a fundamental question regarding one's position on freedom of the press and freedom of speech/expression. Part of supporting both is tollerating things which anger and offend you. The recourse for those who support such freedoms is letters to the editor, peaceful protests/demonstrations, boycotting the newspaper and its advertisers, etc.

I understand that muslims are greatly offended by the cartoon (and seemingly rightfully so--I have not seen the cartoon), but the actions taken thus far undermine their position and make them appear as enemies of free society.
