Subject: Tuesday DownerSince we're not having Funnies, I'll post an actual downer. I was going through some old e-mails a few days ago and stumbled on the peri-Katrina e-mails that I still have saved. Bad, bad memories of that. Seems like not many people are giving it much attention anymore these days. I've always said that unless you've been here and seen it for yourself, you have no idea about the extent of the devastation. Whatever you've seen on the news pales in comparison to what actually happened. You see New Orleans on the news, and it was very bad there. Other places were far worse, with nothing left after the storm. This video is probably the best representation of the complete and utter devastation the storm brought. It's from St. Bernard parish, which is just outside New Orleans to the east. It's kinda long at almost half an hour, and IT IS GRAPHIC, with probably 5-7 bodies shown throughout, but it's as real as real gets. It's amateur film, but I doubt anybody could have done better. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-979707526752563409 Feel down now? |
