Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 530am, ate some breakfast, and drove the hour into Houston. Somehow, there managed to be an accident at 6am on I-45 on a Saturday morning. I mean, seriously. Nobody should be out there that early in the morning, let alone getting themselves into an accident and making dudes like me sit at a dead stop in the middle of I-45.
Event warmup:

Some light jogging, maybe 10 minutes. Legs were feeling a little heavy, probably still recovering from the speedwork I did on Tuesday.

Performance:
Course: Nice course, not too hilly. A little bit windy and pretty humid out. Found myself another runner who looked pretty strong and was going about my pace and tried to keep up with him. That worked fine until about mile 5, where he surged ahead (or I just slowed down) and finished probably about 30 seconds ahead of me.
