Nankin Mills Duathlon

F30-34 is my age group. Check out the results from last year. There is rarely many women at this race. I think last year 30-34 had only 3 or 4 women in it. (My husband did it last year.) At this race you could have a great race, and come in last in your age group (depending on who shows up), or have a sucky race, and place (again, depending on who shows up).

I was secretly hoping that it would be like last year, and only a couple women would show up (guaranteeing me a age-group placing), but I'm expecting 10-15 in my age group will show up, and I'll be happy with middle-of-the-pack

Personally, I'd love to see an under 2-hour time, but since hubby did it last year in 1:53 and some change, it's not likely (he's way faster than me).

When it gets closer, we'll have to arrange some secret signal so that we can meet up. That was the race where we first met BT people.

It's the same course for both runs. It is a cross-country type run. Fromer described it like this:

Course was a CC type route. Not much elevation change but lots of winding turns and NARROW paths. Had a few spots where we had to high step through tall, wet grass.

It is definitely a challenging run, especially compared to Willow, which I know you did last year. The ee website describes it as packed trails in wooded areas.

Allright, the plot thickens.  I'll BE at Nankin Mills...THAT'S a given.  I might not be RACING, though, as bike #1 is still being shipped up from Florida, and bike #2 has not yet been delivered by Bikesport.  So I'm rideless at the moment, which is a problem.

I probably won't know until midweek whether I'll have one, both, or neither of my rides at my disposal.  So it'll be a last-minute add if I do it. 

But I'll see y'all there.

Lex, if they do the same as last year, it will be two loops.

It's confirmed.  I'm there, just not racing.  I'll be the photog and the cheerleader and the 'I pissed you off with my cheery comments while you were hurting guy'. 

Can't wait to see everyone.  I'll PM all the race entrants with my cell to make sure we can meet up before or after....

The bike course, if the same as last year, was east (?) on Hines Drive for 7½km, then turnaround, and re-loop. The course is closed to traffic, and the road is generally pretty good. There's no turns or anything, just straight out and back. My husband gives it a 3/5 for challenging. I'd say it's more rolling than anything else, having ridden most of Hines Drive at one time or another. There's a couple larger hills but I don't think they're part of the course, and they're not anything like the hills at, say Kensington.

I'll be sporting my brand-new BT gear, so I'll be hard to miss
