Comments: I did very well. I was just going for completing it in 40 minutes because I wasn't sure how my shins were going to hold up. I wish I had the experience with hills to conquer them but I now have another 5K training run. What would you do differently?: Not much. This went really well. I had a great support team aka Mike and that helped a lot. Like I said, setting a person record without even planning it was great. ![]() Post race
Warm down: I kept walking for about 5 minutes because I pushed really hard towards the end and then I found myself on the ground after that drinking water, but it was great to know I had such a good time. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being sick last week, shin splints, and the hills, but I can overcome most of those. Event comments: Yeah for personal record!!! I ate a oatmeal bar and a fruit leather and drank some water and took my allergy medicine an hour before race time. I don't have to leave very early because it is close by. I will use my walk there as a warm up. I can't leave without my sunglasses and music today. With the pain in the last race I need the distraction.
I ran around a bit and did some basic stretching. I was really worried about running to much becaue I didn't want to kill the energy I had. I knew from experience this course had hills.
