Subject: RE: Zipp 606 (404/808) Tubular - 2010 model - $I don't really want to keep hijacking this thread but most first-time buyers are NOT familiar with prices. This is especially true for the first time buyer who is enticed by a friend, coach, or pro who is selling his/her equipment. Those people are usually very disconnected with the price of an item. The first-time buyer may feel as if they are getting a good deal because they are not familiar with the resale value of the item. Then when they finally have that epiphany it ends up leaving a sour taste in their mouth and can affect their relationship with that friend, coach, or pro. As for "we" - I have got numerous messages via PM asking me whether a price is a good price or not. If these "buyers" know what a good price is then they wouldn't be asking. If you would like to leave your email then I would be happy to forward old requests and new requests so you can answer them. Lastly, maybe you are familiar with prices, but don't go making assumption that you can't and have not verified. The price of these is almost twice what the average selling price is right now on eBay. And I'm not sure why you have a problem with someone educating either buyers or sellers in regard to this matter. I can ensure you that if sellers posted pictures of wheels for my identification that about 25% would incorrectly describe them. The number comes from looking and verifying ebay listings. Now how is a buyer supposed to determine a fair value if the seller can't even properly describe the wheel. |
