  • 547 yards
  • 02m 11s / 100 yards
Comments:

Started in knee deep water. After start everyone ran farther and I got run over a little. After start, I was in the middle-back of the pack. It was hard to move up and was stuck behind several slow swimmers. After several attempts to pass, finally gave up and swam an easy pace. First 100 meters, I kept swimming too far to the right off course. Lost my swim cap 10 min before race and had to run and get another.
What would you do differently?:

WARM UP!!!!
Transition 1
  • 02m 26s
Comments:

Pretty good transition. Needed water, but only had gatorade.
What would you do differently?:

Bring water with me
Bike
  • 1h 03m 25s
  • 14.5 miles
  • 13.72 mile/hr
Comments:

Crashed at about mile 1. Keith and I lowered the handle bars on Sat night and shifted all my weight to the front instead of the saddle. The bike felt twitchy the whole day. I was cautious on the downhills and did not feel comfortable. Did not have any water. I thought I could get water at the course and all the coolers had gatorade. I was very thirsty on the bike course. I HATE blue gatorade!!
What would you do differently?:

DO NOT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS THE NIGHT BEFORE!!! Bring water with me.
Transition 2
  • 03m 13s
Comments:

did not get the bike all the way on the rack the first time (not used to the lowered bars!!)
Run
  • 44m 51s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 14m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

Luckily they had water bottles coming out of T2. started off with alot of walking the first mile. About 1/2 & 1/2 the second mile and 2/3 jogging the third mile.
Post race
Warm down:

None

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The crash hurt my confidence. Lack of water on bike hurt alot too.
