Swim
Comments: First time swimming this length so I held back quite a bit. I swam a slow and steady pace througout. Finished with loads in the tank. Overall 20% or so faster than last years race. What would you do differently?: Not hold back quite as much.. Transition 1
Comments: It was very cold. Took too long drying off and putting on jersey. Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike but was WAY under dressed. First two laps were hard due to shivering. Second two felt great. Forgot to put my food on the bike when setting up transition. Didnt hurt me too much on the bike but I think it did hurt my run. Overall 15% faster than last year. What would you do differently?: Wear the clothes that I brought to keep warm. Double check transition so you dont forget your nutrition. Transition 2
Comments: At the dismount line my seat got caught up in my shorts. Took a few seconds to sort out hoping no-one was watching. Noticed my right hammy was very stiff. Run
Comments: More or less a disaster. Probably only ran 5 of the 10 k. Hammy was sore and I felt my right calf was just on the border of cramping. Once I started to walk it was very difficult to get running again. What would you do differently?: More training. Post race
Event comments: I do enjoy this race and think it is well organized, the volunteers are great. Just wish it was a bit warmer. Overall I am pleased that I finished. And proud of coming in dead last with a smile on my face. Last updated: 2012-01-26 12:00 AM

Just set up my transition and headed to the change room to don my BT shorts.
Just a few stretches while waiting for my heat to start.
