With all the hype about the ego stroking June biking challenge, we are putting together a similar competition, but we are gonna do it minus the bike crutch.  Anyone want to do a similar Guys vs. Girls, or should we be more creative and come up with something more intriguing?

I'm in.  But....(there's always a catch)  I hate running...but I am getting out there a couple of times a week, so about 6 miles a week. (I am working on my attitude and I know that I have to do this in order to be a triathlete)

I guess what I'm saying is that, I'm the fat kid at PE that nobody wanted on their team and they would choose last cause they knew he/she would slow the team down.   So I understand if nobody wants me on there team.

I just lost my whole post!! aggg

I'm to slow and new to running to make it to 100 miles by the end of June.  I would have to run 4 1/2 miles every other day in order to make that.  I can only make 2 miles now...so I'm out if that's it.

I will commit to running 5 miles in one session by the end of June.  But I just can't see how I can make a total of 100.

I just don't want to buy a speedo to run in.  I'd look really funny!

How is this, everyone posts their goals for June and then we decide who the winner is based on the percentage of the goal they completed.  That way it is fair because you are only competing against the goal you set.  It can be miles, time running, or even just days/week.

If this sound ok to those who would like to participate post your goals for June and we will start.

If I do all workouts as written and scheduled, I'll actually hit 110 but I like having a little wiggle room since running is where I'm most prone to get hit with any soreness. Coach has me running 4 times a week for the next 3 weeks. Probably because I whined about how relatively poor my run was at Mooseman.

I hope I'm not holding you back here.

here's mine.  I will run a total of 30 miles by the end of June with at least one session being 5 miles long.  This is real push with little wiggle room.  This means I will have to take my running shoes with me on my birthday vacation to NY to see Dave Matthews Band.

Okay run challenge peeps. The month is now 36.666667% over. In order to be participating in the run challenge, you need to get out there and RUN!!!

meredith 5.1/30 mi 17%
mike_hall 8.3/40 mi 21%
runpuddrun 4.95/60 mi 8%
thozf 6/48 mi 12.5%
xterratri 37.11/100 mi 37%

This may be a bit inaccurate because most people hadn't logged anything for the weekend yet.

Maybe I'm a wee bit late into this challenge , but I need something to get me going , so if y'all don' mind , can u pl. add me to the list . am thinking 40 mi. . might be a bit of a challenge considering most of the month has gone by .

BTW , does running already completed in the month count towards the goal ? If it does , then I can probably shoot for 50
