Swim
Comments: I felt really good getting in the water this time. After the last OLY I practiced OWS. I was relaxed and my heart rate never went though the roof. I never had a panicky feeling. The only problem is swimming with foggy glasses and no contacts. I saw something yellow in the distance and thought it was the buoy. Turned out to be a yellow kayak :-). There was no time improvement over the last OLY. This could have been a great swim if it wasn't for the detours. What would you do differently?: Wear contacts and don't forget to apply anti-fog before the race. Transition 1
Comments: I fumbled around in transition again. I found my bike right away because this race we racked by numbers and because I used a orange soccer cone to mark the rack. Transition time included run from the beach to transition. What would you do differently?: Practice transition to achieve faster times. Bike
Comments: I was feeling great in the beginning of the bike. I can go faster than I biked today. I am used to knowing my average pace/mile which I wasn't able to see because my watch wasn't set up correctly. What would you do differently?: Set-up clock to easily see it in the aero position. My lower back hurt a little bit and it might be because I lowered my handle bar a little too much. Transition 2
Comments: I usually run with the Zoot Ultra Speed and don't need to tie my shoes and I am not wearing any socks. This time I ran in my new Nike Free Run +3 which are amazing and I had to put on socks until they are worn in. What would you do differently?: Practice transition to achieve faster times. Run
Comments: I felt great in the beginning of the run. I had what felt like chest pressure due to drinking too much. It felt better once I was able to burp it up. Run was slower than I wanted. I was able to full out sprint at the end. What would you do differently?: I need to figure out what I can do to better judge my pace and how much I have left in the tank. I could have gone faster but was afraid I will bonk at the middle of the run. Post race
Warm down: Walked around the event for a little while and got a short massage. What limited your ability to perform faster: Practice, practice and more practice. I was able to consistently train which rewarded me with a 20 minute PR improvement over the last OLY two months ago. Event comments: I like the races that Dallas Athletes Racing puts on. Very organized and plenty of volunteers. Last updated: 2012-04-09 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4am and had a cup of coffee with a Chocolate Brownie Larabar and a Vanilla Honey Stinger Waffle.
No warm up this time ... got out of transition to late to warm up. I checked out the water which was bathwater warm.
