First four hours: Small CamelBak, Bento Box with 2 whole Wheat Bagel Thins with 1/2 serving PB each cut up into two (~102 cals each), small bottle with 8 markings in pen covered over with tape to prevent smudging with 4 scoops Perpetuem. Comes out to about 237.5 calories per hour for me. I take the solid (and it's pretty much 100 calories of any solid I want, gels, bars, food, etc.), then at 20 minutes into the hour 1/4 serving Perpetuem, then at 4 minutes into the hour another 1/4 serving Perpetuem. So the CamelBak, 1 water bottle, and Bento box for the first four hours. I have another water bottle with water that I start into when I get into the fifth hour and I have gels into the Bento box, I like to switch over into only gels (at the top of the hour and at the middle of the hour) for longer rides and I have pill tubes with servings of a caloric drink of whatever I'm into at the moment (100 calories) to put into the water if I want to lay off solids/gels. So two water bottles, a CamelBak, and a Bento Box get me through 6 hours. The Torhans got bad reviews on Amazon by the way. |
