I wanted to you all know about a tri clinic at the Whitmore Lake Community Pool on 12/16. Winter in Michigan is a great time to work on your swim stroke and learn tips from an Olympic triathlete.
Here are the details and I can answer any questions if you have them:
EPIC TRI CLINIC LED BY SHEILA TAORMINA
DECEMBER 16 FROM 9 AM TO 1 PM AT WHITMORE LAKE COMMUNITY POOL
This is your opportunity to learn up close and personal from the smallest swimmer to win Olympic Gold since the 1920 Olympics – this is living proof that technique is more important than size in swimming. Sheila teaches with understanding, passion, and laughter. Not only is the time spent informative, but it is fun and about more than just swimming…. it is about the thought processes that make champions. Click here to learn more about Sheila.
CHOOSE FROM ONE OF TWO CLASSES:
Never-Ever
Join the growing ranks of triathletes from the age of 7 to 70+. Even if you have never swum in a lake, ridden a bike more than a few miles, or even run a mile, you can train to complete a triathlon this summer. In this clinic you will gain the background, tools, and motivation to give it a tri. You will spend some time in the classroom, doing dry land training, and time in the pool. Participants will receive a 12-week sprint triathlon training plan.
I’ve Tried Before
The “I’ve Tried Before” group will learn triathlon training secrets from Sheila Taormina followed by coaching in the pool. The focus of the swim portion of the clinic is on the vital aspect of the freestyle stroke – the underwater high elbow position that is the source of propulsion for a swimmer. The clinic begins with an out-of-water classroom and Q & A session, and is then followed by a dryland and in-water swim session. Attendees will learn what it means to “feel” the water as well as how to develop the strength and flexibility that is required for fast swimming.
