Yahoo news has several stories posted now about "why Romney lost."  They cite several things, and all are true, to an extent, I would think.  But one article is adamant that money (or rather, lack of money) did Romney in.  The suggestion is that he had to spend his cash during a brutal primary, and had insufficient funds from the time of the defacto end of the priimary race to the time of actual nomination, and consequently had to do fundraising instead of campaigning.

It's such a shame that the Citizen's United decision allowed the unfettered corporate campaign donations that resulted in Romney's successful theft of the election.

Seriously, congratulations to Barack Obama and to those who supported him.  Let's hope for more governmental cooperation and progress in the next four years.   He was not my candidate, but his reelection doesn't presage the end of the world, either.

I am not sure if it is Irony but it is a reflection of internal party Politics. If the republican party had come together faster under one person and supported them early instead of having debates with 8-9 candidates participating, Romney would have had to spend less there and could have spent more on the presidential campaign. I do not think it is Romney's fault, I think it is the fault of our party politics and every person facing an incumbant has to put up with it to some extent.

So, Republican Party leaders should just pick a guy early on, rather than allow folks to hear a variety of candidates speak about their positions and make an informed choice. Okaaaaaaay...

Well, they should.  The only reason they have to have such a brutal primary season is because the Libertarians and the Ultra-right get mixed in during the primaries... having no place else to go.

I don't know if it's irony or not.  I just don't think that Romney was  the right candidate.  The defeat ultimately came because Obama had a much better organized campaign.  Time to move on.  This is officially my last political post here for at least the next 3 years.  Promise.
