My BFF has a 6 and 8 year old so I go to a few a year.  Seriously everytime they walk in all lined up in their "dressy" clothes to sing a song about Spring/Fall/Winter..........whatever they are celebrating, I tear up............before they even start!

My kids are 18, 16, & 14 now and I've been to quite a few.  Some are really good and others are down right hilarious.

Just over Halloween they had one with a stuffed zombie being lowered down from the ceiling.  The zombie had a wardrobe malfunction and his pants fell down to his ankles.  It was so loud with laughter it was hard to hear the singing.

My daughter's also in Orchestra and sometimes it's like cats howling and other times it's magical how beautiful they sound.  Love them all.

I have two daughters whose thing is theater/dance/singing rather than sports, so been to many a performance.  I've never been more nervous than before my oldest one's solo on opening night of the first play she had the lead in.  I think that is my equivalent of watching my son/daughter pitch in a playoff game for the first time.

As an elementary principal, I've seen my fair share.  I love them!!!  Sometimes, I'm teary eyed because they're just precious, and other times, I can't stop laughing because they're so darn cute!

My daughters participated in piano and ballet from age 3 through high school graduation and beyond.  The piano extended into state competitions, the ballet to semi-pro dance ensembles.   There were lots of performances. I have not missed but one performance.  It was a ballet recital when G3 was in graduate school in California and I could not get off from work to travel.  I watched the video on line.

Attendance and much smiling is all that is required of fathers.  I absolutely would not miss them.
