Today the 2014 light duty (half ton or 1500) was shown to the public.  The HD is not show yet, but coming soon.  This new style truck is very nice.  I would encourge everyone to take a look at one.  The insides are really nice.  The truck is actually built like a truck again and not something that is going to break under a little use.

It's a drastic change from the current 900 series that is out.  You all that need a heavy duty (3/4 ton or 2500) will really be impressed when that one is shown.

Disclaimer, I work for GM

I drove Ford trucks for over 20 years.....bought a 2009 Chevy.....not impressed.  In fact, it'll be gone soon for another Ford.  I'll look at the new Chevy's.....but the one I own isn't much of a truck compared to Ford.

I will say this though....we have owned 3 Suburbans....best of it's class.

I have always driven Chevy/GMC trucks; liked the styling of them better than Ford.  However, I think Ford has caught up in that area the last few years.  I am still a big fan of the Chevy 5.3 engine/6 speed tranny combination, which I have in my current GMC.  My old truck has 240k, a '99 Chevy with the 5.3 engine, which i still use on the farm, has been rock sold except for a small oil leak.  Still use it almost daily and it work great except for the drivers door which is smashed in from backing into it with the combine this fall.

2001 Chevy w/ less than 100K miles... can't see us replacing it anytime soon.

However, I'm SURE my husband will feel better about me driving/hauling a newer truck w/ the gas gage being front and center.
I'm known to push the limits and have even stalled out once at a redlight while hauling the trailer (we were just over a mile from home and less than a block from the gas station).  and YES, we DO carry a 10gal can of gas b/c of my habit

Hey, didn't you guys see the sticky about responding to spammers!!!

It looks sharp, I have never been a huge Chevy fan but it's because of a couple bad experiences with cars on the cheap end of their scale more than 20 years ago.

If I were going to buy a pick up today I'd get one of the Ford Raptors based 100% on looks.  They're just sweet looking.

Are the new HD trucks finally going to have a solid axle setup in the front end?

The steps don't make a lot of sense to me. Why not just put your foot up 3 inches and on to the bumper?

Like the projector headlights, looks like a lot of new cars are moving to that.
