Swim
Comments: Happy with 1st AG swim. Started with a fast swimming group. Stayed on feet on and off. A little tough to see some of the smaller buoys. But good overall. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Comments: There was a long uphill run from the water to transition. Allowed me time to get the top of my wetsuit down. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: Rolling uphills were tough. Lost momentum and got passed a lot. Had a great time descending and hammered the flats. Passed people on downhills. Went back and forth with a guy in my AG for pretty much the whole bike race. What would you do differently?: I think I did about as well as I could with what I had today. Transition 2
Comments: Had a good transition: 9th overall. Racked quickly and got helmet off and shoes on with no problem. Grabbed race belt and hat and ran to timing mat. Picked up a place on the guy who came in right before me on the bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: This is where the wheels came off. Between the heat and humidity, my HR was high. Breathing was tough. Legs felt ok. Just tried to keep HR in What would you do differently?: I am not sure. Again, I think I did the best I could given the circumstances. Maybe push HR into the 170s and see what happens. Could be useful to see exactly where I would blow up. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and drank water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat, humidity, weakness climbing hills. Event comments: The post-race spread is the best I've seen at any race: ziti, rosemary chicken, meatballs, ravioli. Hit the spot. Our club won the club challenge. Last updated: 2013-05-16 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3:50. Ate pancakes. Drove up. Picked up race packet. Wetsuit on. Ate a banana 15 minutes before race time.
Swam a little bit before the elite wave went off. Mostly tried to stay out of the hot sun in my wetsuit.
