Cant get to the website but dont be afraid of tubulars. I left clinchers for tubulars and just trying going back to clinchers due to the size of my fleet of bikes and ease of having the same brake pads on all my bikes. My first 4 wheels i worked on reminded me why i left clinchers. Tubulars are eaiser to maintain and easier to fix a flat when on the go. I use tape for gluing the tires on so mounting a tubular is about as much effort as mounting one side of a clincher. When flating during a ride i use pitstop so the effort in fixing a flat is about like using a c02. i would suggest checking out youtube for tufo tape.

If interested i have a set of blackwell research 50s for $400, no name 88 tubulars for $400, amd zipp 808 fc for $1300.

Well they are Planet X 50mm with tires for $350.00. I looked at videos all night on tubulars. So on the road or during a race when changing a flat do you re glue or tape them right there?

This is the add.

I have a PLanet X 50mm tubular wheelset with Vittoria Corsa EVO tire that I am looking to sell. I have had these wheels for about a year and a half, and have ridden them very little, in fact they are a race only set of wheels. The tires are in excellent condition. These wheels are Shimano/SRAM cassette compatible and come with quick release skewers and Vittoria valve extensions.

No i use pitt stop which is like fix a flat. Due to the nature of tubulars this works better on tubulars than clinchers. I habe 50/50 luck with pitt stop and clinchers and 100% success with pitt stopp and tubulars. Basically open can, inflat tire, bike away 30 seconds or less.

For what its worth I ride Planet X 52mm aeros right now (clinchers). They are lighter then my stock wheels by a ton, stock was 2200 grams these are like 1800. They spin forever... If you hold my stock wheel and spin it, it will slow and stop. The planet X just spins. I rode the same TT week to week and picked up .4 mph and stayed around that new speed every week. I climb better, I am faster downhill, I maintain better.

My OP is that the Planet X wheels are not top line/ greatest wheel ever. They are just a solid fairly light wheel with decent hubs and aero. My stock wheels must just be cheapo crap.... They are Felt TTR4s and although they are very robust the PX wheels are light years better.
