Subject: I did it: London Sprint Triathlon Well, Im at home. I have been out drinking to celebrate and I have done my first sprint distance triathlon. Oh, and I absolutely loved every minute of it. I just want to do another sprint distance as quick as possible!!??.
The swim went well, I thought, just very very different to swimming in a pool. I could not see two feet in front of me and that was a bit weird at first.
The bike, went well on my £35 second hand racer, I passed a few people who looked like they had invested heavily in their bikes!!!! However, I did have jelly legs when I got off the bike.
The run, If I had of trained at all, would have been a lot lot better. I did not walk one bit of it and am very proud of that fact but I felt as though I stuggled. It is certainly the discipline that I can make the biggest improvements in.
I put my all into it and am proud of that fact. Although, to say that i entered the event in Feb, my training, if I am honest, never got started. I had injury after injury and also my determination wasnt up to scratch. I always was thinking, I have ages to train so I will be o.k. But the event came around quick and I was very unprepared. Next time, I will not make this mistake, but at the moment, I am very happy to have done the London Sprint Triathlon.
Oh, I have most definately caught the bug, Im really looking forward to doing my next Tri having actually trained properly. |
